Automotive Door Panel Checking Fixture
Category:
Product Details
The automotive door panel fixture is a specialized piece of equipment designed to evaluate the quality of car door panels—covering various types such as front doors, rear doors, and side-sliding doors. It ensures that the panels meet production standards in terms of dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerances, assembly compatibility, and aesthetic quality, ultimately guaranteeing the proper functioning of the doors and maintaining the overall vehicle’s high-quality performance.
Core detection function
1. Dimensional Accuracy Testing
Overall dimensional accuracy: Using high-precision equipment such as a three-coordinate measuring machine, key dimensions of the door panel— including length, width, height, and diagonal measurements—are precisely measured. Length errors are controlled within ±0.3 mm, while width and height errors remain below ±0.2 mm, ensuring the door panel fits perfectly into the vehicle’s door frame and preventing issues like excessive gaps or installation difficulties during assembly.
Installation hole positions and keyway dimensions: Hole position tolerances must not exceed ±0.05 mm, hole diameter tolerances are controlled within ±0.02 mm, and keyway size errors must remain within ±0.1 mm. This ensures that all components are securely installed, preventing loosening or detachment during vehicle operation.
2. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Inspection
Flatness Inspection: Utilizing laser plane scanning technology, we inspect the flatness of the door panel surface, ensuring that the flatness error within each 100mm × 100mm area does not exceed 0.05mm. This prevents surface irregularities from compromising the smooth installation of interior trim panels and affecting the sealing performance of the car doors.
Straightness and Curvature Inspection: This process checks the straightness of door panel edges (with a full-length straightness error no greater than 0.1 mm) and the curvature of areas like window openings (deviating from the designed curvature by no more than ±0.05 mm). These inspections ensure the door panel’s shape meets design specifications, harmonizes seamlessly with the vehicle’s overall body lines, and guarantees smooth operation of the window glass when opening and closing.
3. Assembly Compatibility Testing
Adapting to the vehicle body door frame: On the inspection fixture, simulate the vehicle body door frame and perform installation tests on the door panel. Check the fit between the door panel and the frame—ensuring that any gaps are uniform and do not exceed 0.1mm. This step also verifies the panel’s secure installation and effective sealing, preventing rainwater, dust, and other elements from entering the vehicle interior.
Adapting to interior components: By simulating the installation of interior panels, armrests, switches, and other components, verify the compatibility between the corresponding mounting locations on the door panel and these interior parts. Ensure that after installation, the components function properly, sit flush with the door panel surface, and exhibit no interference or looseness.
4. Appearance Quality Inspection
Surface Defect Detection: The inspection tool is equipped with a high-definition visual inspection system capable of detecting defects on the door panel surface, such as scratches, burrs, bubbles, sink marks, and deformations, ensuring that the surface quality meets aesthetic requirements.
Color and Texture Inspection: Verify that the door panel color matches the vehicle body color, ensuring color deviations remain within an extremely narrow range. At the same time, inspect the clarity and consistency of the surface texture to maintain a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Value realization
Through rigorous inspection using door panel fixtures, the rate of defective door panels can be kept below 0.1%, effectively minimizing issues such as poor door sealing, unwanted interior noises, and malfunctioning components—problems often caused by door panel quality issues. At the same time, this process enhances detection efficiency, reduces enterprise-level quality control costs, and helps automakers and component manufacturers ensure the superior quality and safety of vehicle doors, ultimately boosting the overall market competitiveness of vehicles and increasing customer satisfaction.
