The rear bumper assembly inspection fixture is a specialized measuring tool designed specifically to verify the dimensional accuracy, geometric tolerances, and overall assembly compatibility of automotive rear bumper assemblies. Its primary function is to identify and reject non-conforming parts, ensuring that the rear bumper fits precisely with the vehicle body, tail lights, exhaust pipes, and other components—thus meeting both aesthetic and functional requirements.

 

Core Detection Function 
Dimension and Contour Accuracy Inspection: Verify that the outer contour of the rear bumper body (including surface curvature and edge/corner dimensions), as well as the positions of mounting holes (such as bolt holes for connecting to the vehicle body and bracket-fixing holes), and functional holes (like radar mounting holes or fog lamp openings) meet the design specifications. Tolerances typically range from ±0.1 to 0.8 mm, with even tighter precision requirements for aesthetic surfaces, ensuring that dimensional deviations do not result in uneven gaps after installation. 


Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Inspection: Focus is placed on checking the flatness of the bumper surface, as well as the profile accuracy of curved surfaces (e.g., ensuring the outer surface is smooth with no protrusions or depressions), and verifying the perpendicularity of mounting reference points (such as the vertical angle between the bracket and the main body). This ensures that, after installation, the bumper fits snugly against the vehicle body, preventing issues like air leaks, unwanted noises, or compromised collision protection performance. 


Whole-vehicle assembly fit-checking: Simulates real-world vehicle assembly scenarios to verify the compatibility of the rear bumper with surrounding components, including the fitting clearance with the vehicle’s rear body (typically ≤2mm), alignment accuracy with the tail lights, adequate clearance for the exhaust pipe, and the positional precision of radar/camera installations after mounting—ensuring proper sensor functionality.

 

Before leaving the factory, all finished products must undergo a comprehensive inspection using specialized gauges—verifying everything from contour dimensions and hole positioning accuracy to assembly compatibility. Only products that meet every single criterion are approved for delivery to automakers for vehicle installation, ensuring that the rear bumper not only looks perfectly aligned and functions flawlessly after installation but also adheres to the vehicle’s stringent quality standards.
